Best Way to Deploy a Commercial Cleaning Robot in a Building (2026)

Start with one empty floor, one map and one docking station. Our pick for that floor, when the pass is 800 mm and the climb is within 2%, is the CleaniBot C5. A second floor is a second map until an elevator project is signed. The ten-step scrubber guide stays on the implementation guide. This page is only the building constraint: several floors, one machine that is not rolled across town the same day.

Disclosure. OrionStar publishes this page and sells CleaniBot. Figures are manufacturer-published or from the product manual, accessed 5 November 2026. We did not lab-test the other machines.

Which floor to deploy first

Pick the hard plate that can hold the dock, not the busiest lobby at noon. The C5 is 215 kg. Empty the tanks and use the lifting points in the manual if it has to change level without an elevator module. The S55 Pro is 70 kg and passes 700 mm. It is the first-floor candidate when the opening is the constraint. Which machine belongs on which surface is the comparison.

Our pick for the first install

Install the C5 where 1,980 m²/h maximum theoretical and 45 L / 45 L tanks match a plate the dock can serve. Noise is ≤70 dB(A). Do not install it on any climb exceeding 2%, and do not install a 1.45 m Tennant in a 1,000 mm corridor because the brochure rate is larger. 5,890 m²/h on the T16AMR is theoretical manual.

How to choose the map

The C5 manual names the map as city + customer + floor. Draw it while the floor is empty. Virtual walls keep the robot out of the toilet, the stair, and the fire door. The S55 Pro is the same rule at a smaller opening. Phantas, at 350–700 m²/h practical and 11.5 L / 10.5 L tanks, does not grow a docking station during commissioning.

What is an elevator module

The C5 manual says the machine is capable of integration with elevator systems. The S55 Pro manual points elevator and gate modules to sales. Both mean wiring and a building permit. They do not mean the night cleaner enables a toggle. Pudu CC1 Pro’s optional elevator line is the same kind of project. Until it is signed, the fleet is one robot per floor, not one robot for the tower.

Price stays off this page

No price, no lease price and no payback. The quote should name the docking station, the maps and the elevator module as separate lines. The questions are on the quote page.

Safety on a shared route

Teach the route empty. A wet new floor is a slip risk (HSE slips). IEC 63327 and IEC 60335-2-72 are the machine standards. IEC 60529 is the IP code. Keep the path off an accessible route (Access Board, chapter 4) and clear of an exit (NFPA 101). The EU duty sits with the employer (OSH Framework Directive). 47 CFR Part 15 is the C5 radio claim. Nilfisk’s fact sheet names CSA/ANSI C22.2 No. 336. The C5 manual does not, and install does not create a certificate. LionsBot’s pass is not published, so do not mark a corridor “fits” from the body width.

Maintenance after go-live

The station self-cleans the C5 sewage tank. The weekly check remains. Neutral or alkaline detergent only. Brain Corp’s teach-and-repeat on a Tennant still needs a person who can drive the route again when the furniture moves.

Frequently asked questions

Can the robot change floors on day one?

Only with an elevator project that is already signed. Otherwise one map per floor.

Why not roll the C5 to a second building?

It is 215 kg, and the map is that floor. A second building is a second install.

Does the Phantas install include a dock?

Not from the specs page. Do not add one in the method statement.

Where does a ride-on get deployed?

Where the aisle already takes it. Not in the office corridor. Pudu BG1 at about 344 kg is the same constraint.

Who owns the wet floor during the first week?

A named person on that floor. The robot does not.
